Mark Dixon, Acting Chair

Mark has worked for Youth Options, a charity that supports young people through many different projects, since 1990 and took over as CEO in 2003. He is also on the board of the Hampshire Children’s Trust and is vice chairman of the Voluntary Sector Alliance.

 

Clive Sparrow, Treasurer

Clive Sparrow, Treasurer

Clive is an interim director and strategy consultant who provides consulting and programme management services at Board level for clients having to negotiate their way through significant financial challenges and change. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham, together with professional qualifications as a chartered accountant. Clive is also a Trustee of The Childhood Trust, a charity that supports vulnerable children living in poverty in London. 

Carole Aspden

Carole Aspden

Carole is service director for children and young people’s services at Bournemouth Borough Council, with responsibility for integrated youth services, early years, school improvement, special education needs and disability, and youth offending. Carole started her career as a youth and community development worker and retains a passion for work with young people.

Tim Eyres

Tim Eyres

Currently employed by Norfolk County Council as the head of 11-19 strategy & commissioning within children’s services, Tim has responsibility for leading the development of commissioned services for young people, reflecting his experience in youth and community work within a number of local authorities.

Carol Jackson

Carol Jackson

Carol has worked in the youth sector since 1988 in many senior roles. These include as director of Community Links, a charity running community projects in London. Carol is now senior head of outreach assessment and outcomes for The Prince's Trust, working in the central region.

Jon Niblo

Jon Niblo

As a child, John was a member of North Fenham Boys’ Club, an Ambition member. Before becoming a youth worker in 1997, he was a professional footballer with Halifax Town. He is now Chief Executive of NE Youth. Jon is also on the boards of homeless charity Moving On and the Federation for Detached Youth Work.

 Alastair Knight

Alastair Knight

Alastair is the current IT&S Operations Director at BP. Alastair joined BP to build a centralised IT function that controls costs, drives efficiencies and provides programme oversight and governance. In addition to his full-time role, Alastair is coming to the end of an MBA at Henley Business School. We are delighted to have him joining our board of trustees. 

Lasitha Dissanayake

Lasitha Dissanayake

Lasitha joins us as a trustee with a background of over 10 years working in compliance. After graduating from the University of Bristol with a degree in Politics, Lasitha joined Deloitte where he remained for four years. He then moved to UBS Investment Bank as their Head of Compliance, before taking up his current role at Credit Suisse. Lasitha has a strong interest in the welfare and education of young people. 

Olivia Broderick

Olivia Broderick

We are very pleased to have Olivia on our board of trustees, Olivia is the Head of Regulated Lending and Mortgages at Barclays Bank. One of her passions, through community work, is to support women return to work after a career break. She is a regular panellist for the Law Society and helps run CV clinics for women who are returners to law. 

Kate Collis

Kate Collis

Kate is currently a Director of Finance, IT & Property. Kate brings Direct experience of fundraising, charities, youth work, volunteering, combined with commercial experience gained at board level in retail, multi-site, leisure, FMCG, media and online businesses to Ambition. Kate is also currently a trustee of The2:67project, mentor at The Aspire Foundation and a Local Youth Group leader & Girl Guiding Volunteer at Girlguiding
