Leadership & Social Action

Strengthening communities and training young leaders

Our programmes accredit volunteering and enable young people to become leaders within their local communities.

Action Up provides the skills, confidence and qualifications to help young people aged 10-17 in disadvantaged communities shape their futures. Starting at their youth club, project or school, young people complete leadership training to build teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. Learning culminates by delivering a project which makes a positive difference to themselves and their local community, which promotes a culture of volunteering and develops transferrable work skills. Action Up was previously funded by the Cabinet Office and is accredited by the Open College Network.

We are also proud to back Step Up To Serve’s #iwill campaign to double the number of young people engaged in social action by 2020.
